44% is right around Obama's max in Texas (and not far from what he will get, in the end.)

Yes, if Obama wins by 5% or so (his present margin in polling right now, from what I can tell), he *could* pull Texas within single digits.  That much is clear.

Uh, the same polls you are going crazy about showing Kansas as a swing state have McCain winning some Kerry states so please get in touch with reality or at the very least don't have such a blatant double standard.

The stereotype is that TX is all republican.  But let us not forget that all but one election ('96) saw a Texan (a Bush) on the ballot.

Texas is Republican with or without Bush.  Republicans control 70% of congressional seats, both senate seats, every statewide office for the last 10 years, both houses of the state legislature, every seat on the Texas Supreme Court......well, you get the picture.
