I heard a rumor that Obama is banking most of his supers right now.

What does that mean, exactly?

That any (or maybe most) superdelegates who have made it clear to the Obama campaign that they plan to endorse him were told to wait until after the June 3 primaries. Marc Ambinder reported that a couple of days ago.

Smart move on his part.  Or, if the media makes a big deal out of a HRC win in PR, have about half of them endorse on the 2nd, and the other half on the 4th.

How would the supers split if they followed the wishes of their constituents?

I believe senators would split 27-22 for Obama if they all supported the winner of their state (yes, I'm assuming MT and SD for Obama. Duh.)

Governors would, I think, be 14-13 for Clinton.

House Reps I'm less sure of...

Hmm... like clockwork. It's almost as if they're all timing when they announce their endorsement... like someone has a masterplan or something. That would never happen though.

You get problems with DNC members, though, because they're not distributed remotely by population or "Democratic-ness" (heavy concentrations around DC, most particularly). Not that I'd object to all of Maryland, DC and Virginia's DNC members being obliged to vote for Obama, but, you know.

Of course. But some of them are party chairs and in other ways tied to the local party, aren't they? I don't know what number you'd have left in the end, but I'd imagine it would make sense to split those according to national popular vote (i.e. 50-50)

Anyway, I would do the House reps but I don't got the time. Tongue

DNC Eileen Macholl (WA) for Clinton. Her endorsement announcement makes it so laughably obvious that Patty Murray strong-armed her.

Oregon DNC Gail Rasmussen for Obama

By my count, that's the endorsement that guarantees Obama victory if MI/FL are completely barred from the convention (it won't happen, but it's a landmark point nonetheless).

Puerto Rico DNC Ricky Martin for Clinton.

Clinton in her press release: "He is a very important voice in the Latino community"

I'm not Latino, but if I were, I'd resent that.

Yeah.  The source I got it from corrected that.  I knew Georgia "felt" wrong.
