How much do y'all reckon the chance of Obama (or Hillary for that matter) getting an endorsement from John Edwards, Al Gore or some other big shot BEFORE Alamo Tuesday?

I'm thinking perhaps Speaker Pelosi will weigh in?  Its been rumored she secretly supports Obama for a while now.  Neither Gore nor Edwards has indicated they favor one candidate over the other.

Agreed. There's a good chance Pelosi will weigh in within the next few days and carry with her a good chunk of the remaining undecided congresspersons. Gore and Edwards are much less likely.

Do Speakers usually endorse a candidate?  Did Hastert in 2000, or Gingrich in '96?

Reportedly Edwards doesn't want to endorse either because if he endorses Obama he'll look like a bandwagon jumper and if he endorses Hillary he'll be boarding a sinking ship.

Gore and other bigwigs are reportedly staying neutral so as to play "peacemaker" (or should that be "kingmaker"?) at the end of the process:

Honestly, I don't think Pelosi is a likable enough figure to really help Obama in Texas and Ohio.  Might even hurt him.

To be on the safe side, I'd have Nancy wait until Pennsylvania before she goes public with an endorsement.

I assume that Pelosi, Gore, etc. will endorse Obama the day or days after Obama takes Texas and maybe Ohio on March 4th.

With the shape the Democratic race has now taken, I find it unimaginable that any major Democratic figure would now be coming out and endorsing Clinton, unless things turn around in a big way unexpectedly.
