Who will win this pointless contest? Will exit polling even be done?

BRTD had a good point for once, saying that it could be a reasonable indicator of Obama's difference in performance between caucuses and primaries.

Yeah, I guess. I actually would like to see exit polling done (as a political junkie). I expect Obama to win but by a much smaller margin than in the caucus.

I saw an article about the primary which said that Washington had vote-by-mail. Is this true? I thought Oregon was the only state that did that.

All counties but the two biggest, King (Seattle) and Pierce (Tacoma), are fully vote-by-mail.  Most in King and Pierce vote by mail anyway.

and both Pierce and King are in the process of being all vote-by-mail. So basically Washington will soon be an all vote-by-mail state.

Hooray for not getting my ballot in the mail. Sad

But if the election meant anything, maybe I would've bothered walking over to the city hall and demanding a ballot... But I don't really care that much. Smiley

Currently with 40% of precincts reporting:

Clinton: 49.32% (109k)
Obama: 47.3% (104k)

So Clinton is actually in the lead. Though also at this point in time NO ballots have been counted from King county.

Um... doesn't Obama do the best will low turn-out demographics (younger voters, students, blacks)? Wouldn't that deflate his numbers considerably in a pointless primary?

Obama supporters vote in the caucus and realize the primary doesn't matter so they didn't mail back their ballots.

Possibly there's also many voting for Hillary like I said I would, sort of as an insult.

Don't sell this primary short.  If the race somehow gets close in terms of delegates, some will look to total popular votes.  You always want to win.

Maybe Hillary will start demanding that delegates be seated from this primary...

Final results are 50-47 for Obama, 100% reporting.

Romney won 21% in the GOP primary. That's the problem with postal votes.

Obama's pulled ahead *phew*

yeah i know it doesn't matter; I just want Hillary to look like a total loser. She can't have any wins, because if she gets even one, even one that doesn't count, she'll spin it into a huge comeback.
