Most likely Paul. I'd think McCain would have a slight edge though, since I don't see Paul becoming a big candidate conservatives would defect [by and large] to.

Clinton, the more I get to know about McCain the less I like him.

Clinton.  Might not like it, but I like her policy positions a lot better than those of the other two.  Living in Indiana, however, I might just vote Green or Socialist since Hillary would never win here.

I'd vote for Ron Paul, but he wouldn't pick up more than a few percent of the vote.  He could pull away enough small-government Republicans to let Clinton run away with the Electoral College, though.

I love how most people are responding to this like it wasn't made by quite possibly the most controversial member we've ever had. coughRobertStarkcough

Probably Ron Paul, although the thought of McCain winning might be enough to make me hold my nose and vote for the Ice Queen if I was in any other state.

Clinton 46
McCain 45
Paul 8

Paul will allow Clinton to win by pulling enough votes away from McCain in the west.

For S&G,

Obama 49
McCain 44
Paul     6

Well, how has he done in the GOP primaries?  His best states (along with percent of Republicans voting for him) were Montana (25), Washington (22), North Dakota (21), Maine (19), Alaska (17), Minnesota (16), Nevada (14), Kansas (11), Iowa (10).  That's it.  Everywhere else he's in single digits.  Just to be clear: a quarter of the GOP vote is as good as it gets.  And all those states in which he has a double-digit showing are caucus states.  Caucus states are where caucus goers go specifically to vote for Ron Paul, and they generally attract some pretty fanatical Ron Paul supporters.  None are primary states.  And the primaries are much more like the conditions you'll find in general elections.  And in all those caucus states where he's getting ten percent or better, he's being bested by McCain or Romney (who endorsed McCain).  So, realistically, what states do you think Paul would win?  I think none, although as some have pointed out, he may affect the election in a way that increases Clinton's chancing of winning the electoral vote nationwide by helping her win a plurality in a few swing states.

He'd get maybe 5% nationally. 8% is way too generous.
