284-254 Obama
And I'm being overly generous towards McCain.

IŽd give Colorado to Obama, maybe Missouri and Virginia as well. Rasmussen will come out with a new CO poll in 1.5 hours. I think Obama could be tied with or slightly leading McCain there, while Clinton probably trails by 3-5.

Biden would be a strong pick for Obama (covers his lack of knowledge on the federal and interational scene).  This is one of the few instances where a VP pick helps.  Pawlenty is just a cardboard cutout for the VP slot for McCain and doesn't add anything to the ticket (besides, 90% of the nation can't pronounce his last name, let alone actually knows who he is).

I don't think Biden is a good choice for vp. It would be better to have a popular figure from a large swing state like Ted Strickland or Mark Warner.

No one knows Strickland, and only a few know Warner outside of the Mid-Atlantic states.  Neither carry the weight or experience that Biden has, let alone the national name recognition.

I'm not a fan of the "pick a VP cause he'll help the candidate win a state" reason anyway.  I think Biden actually is a good choice, even though I do not care for him personally.

Biden is by and far Obama's best possible VP choice, adding experience and a capable attack dog to the ticket.  He also gives needed experience on things like international efforts(Kosovo and Iraq)

This is politically incorrect. Naso's usually the one to put Minnesota in the McCain column when Pawlenty's on the McCain ticket not AndrewCT.

He's only saying that because he's dumb enough to think I'll take the bait and scream at him over it even though I've ignored his stupidity the last 5 million times he's tried something similar.

Very few people outside the beltway and Dave Leip's political atlas have heard of Biden either.  He's super slimy to boot.

The light colors represent swing states and how I think they will turn out. The fact remains that Obama does not poll well in many southern states, Ohio, and is weak with Hispanics. McCain will win his states narrowly on the map, but he'll get enough moderates to put him over the top.

Pawlenty doesn't bring much to the ticket, and I think Minnesota still stays Democratic, as well as Iowa. Pennsylvania flips as turnout in the suburban areas is high for McCain, and New Hampshire and Wisconsin goes to McCain as well. With a Mark Warner, Virginia may flip to Obama and Missouri has a real chance to as well.

I'm skeptical with Colorado, but I think McCain carries it by 1-2%.

If Obama/Biden don't make any major errors or get caught in any scandals...

If the economy stays the same or worsens...

If Iraq gets worse, rather than better...

If the economy improves...

If Iraq remains the same or improves...

If Obama/Biden are lackluster in debates and on the trail....

Pawlenty wouldn't deliver Minnesota, let alone border states.  I can't think of any Governor who would deliver border states.
