The greatest possibility to win tonight for Huckabee was VA, where he will lose by 7-9 points.  The MD and DC contests look like a slaughter.  It is time for Huckabee to  exit the field.

Yes, he has no chance. Neither does Ron Paul, but he won't drop out either. Let the babies have their bottles. McCain will have a delgate lock soon enough.

i just read about his son and the disturbing incident of hanging a dog.  wtf?

Huckabee has said he'll stay in until someone gets a majority of delegates, but he would have to win virtually every delegate still up in order to get the nomination. Nevertheless, it looks like he'll stay in the thing as long as he can.

And why not? He doesn't have anything better to do, he's running his campaign on a shoestring budget, and he clearly enjoys campaigning.

Somehow, I suspect he doesn't leave until Texas and Ohio.  Why?  I don't know.  He will perform quite well in Texas, however.

Why would he get out? The longer he stays in the more he endears himself to conservatives who will flock to him in four years after McCain loses this November.

He could be hoping that McCain dies.  Just saying.

That's basically what he said in his speech. "If something were to happen to Senator McCain"

Why not stay in to just spend more money needlessly in a hopeless adventure?

It's not as if he's spending much money.

I'm trying very, very hard not to make a "hung like a dog" joke.

And it isn't even his money, unlike Mitt's little escapade.

Not yet, JJ.  McCain can still implode.  However, I think even with McCain moving steadily on, having Huckabee in the race competiting with him is actually a positive, as it forces McCain to make the necessary "handshakes" with conservative voters to draw in a larger coalition come November.  Just as long as he doesn't reach too far to the right, causing him to lose his grasp on the middle.

And what about Vince Foster blown away in Ft. Marcy Park?   Oh that's right, Hillary knows nothing about that.
