Well, you would be in the minority on that view. When people think they are blatantly getting screwed, they are going to react.

Would you sit and watch while someone robbed you blind?

It's getting tired; he peeked at SC.

There was a lot of new material in his speech tonight. I thought it was his 2nd best speech of the campaign.

I grew up working class so I can understand this appeal,  however, it is very misguided.  Many Americans work for and invest in the evil corporations. How dare the largest one make a pedestrian 10% Gross profit.

People wouldn't care if not for the fact that they're paying $3.00/gallon at the pump.  But as such, they are really pissed off. Can you blame them?

Obama will surely make the price of gas fall!  Right after he bombs Pakistan.

But seriously.  Can't we remember the last time a Democrat got elected because he was an outsider?  Barack Obama = Jimmy Carter II.

Yes, the oil companies are putting guns to peoples heads when they fill up the pump.  It is an expensive commodity and cheap in this country.  Some people pay more for bottled water.  There are exploration costs, pipelines, refineries, bribes to foreign officals Smiley and a host of other expenses before it even gets near the pump.  Most Americans are fundamentally and willfully ignorant as to how the economy and business works.   The wicked pharmaceutical companies also face astronomical expenses.  It can cost around 1 billion dollars and up before a new drug is even brought to and approved for market.  Bashing big business is easy and plays to peoples emotions and fears- just like Republicans do on a host of issues.

Get real! The truth is that the oil companies and pharmaceutical companies are making record profits.

I'm sure they are sleeping better tonight knowing that they have an advocate like you going to bat for them.

Economies grow, there are mergers and economies of scale.  Exxon is the largest company in the world and will have record gross profits.  Margins are another story...
The pharmaceutical companies have not been doing very great and there have been a # of layoffs to try to increase their profits.

Also why should we punish companies for being successful?
Do you invest or do you keep your money under the mattress?  Do you like to invest in , companies that lose money?

I'll gladly go to bat for the millions of people who work in these industries and peripheal industries.   While you are at it why don't you attack any industry for making money.  Google has had quite a run.
