Um. No.

He can stay in Pennsylvania. Forever. Maybe he runs for governor so we can get a better Senator in there.

Nah.  Why would we pair Obama with someone with zero charisma?

How about Sherrod Brown!?

Obama/Brown, Obama/Kaine, Obama/Herseth, Obama/Sebelius, Obama/Feingold would all be awesome tickets.

I actually totally forgot about the guy. Has any other first-term Senator kept a lower profile since being elected?

Amy Klobuchar has not exactly made a name for herself, either. Nor Ben Cardin.

LOL what a shocker! Roll Eyes

Anyway, I have a friend who suggested this about a year ago. I didn't think it was very likely then and I still don't. I understand that he'd be an ideological balance but he brings nothing else. No charisma. He doesn't lock up any states (not even PA). He's not an exceptional debator. He's nothing. The only thing he'd do is really piss off the Pro Choice radicals. Could you imagine? Abortion related legislation is debated and is tied in the Senate. Does Vice President Bobby vote his conscience or with the President?

Nothing can make up for what they did to that great man.

Bob Casey Jr.'s best role is "not being Rick Santorum".

Beyond that, however, he isn't good for much.

Too dull... has the makings of a fine Senator and the seat is his for as long as he wants it, but he doesnt do much for either a Clinton or Obama ticket.

…an uninspiring, methodical, effective legislator, moderate Democrat, with the second name 'Casey' and backed to the hilt by the PA Dem machine, sounds an ideal fit for the Commonwealth. Smiley

No, out of the question.  Obama and Hillary need someone with strong executive experience, not another congressman.  And Ed Rendell is the type of politically-incorrect white male--with a certain appeal to working class whites--that could help Obama.  Think LBJ to JFK.

And also, if McCain does the smart thing and chooses Tom Ridge as VP, a Rendell as VP might neutralize a PA vote for the GOP.  The last thing the Democrats need is for the GOP to carry PA in November

It's only a matter of time before he does it. I hope we find a way to beat him.

Until he gets caught up in a bad year for the Dems and then becomes an irrelevant, "Oh, that guy was a Senator?"
