Great summary of McCain's lowlights.

I think it was rather flattering to McCain actually. If this is the best "they" can do, McCain is home free. Of course, they left out the part that McCain said the issue was not how long US troops stayed, but how long it would be until the casualties largely stopped ala South Korea. Bring it on!

I realize everyone, well rational people, want out of Iraq, but I think McCain's the only one willing to state the truth, that the powers that be have ensured that we're going to be there a very long time (just look at that new embassy they're building, and you tell me that the next president isnt going to be bound to keep a large force in Iraq).  The next president, even if (s)he's a two termer, is going to have a very uphill battle to get out of there.

I'm still not sure the surge is a good idea, but I think McCain's at least being more realistic.

Ah well, all 3 of the potential presidents are going to be restrained.

"like hope, but different"

lol.

Actually one of the reasons I would vote for McCain over Hillary is that I think both would stay in Iraq to try to fix the Bush mess and I think McCain would do a much better job than Hillary.  So if we're gonna stay we might as well have the more qualified candidate in office to deal with it.

That being said, the reason I support Obama over both of them is because I think he would do his damnedest to get us the hell outta there as quickly as possible.

I just discovered this video. The reaction shots are perfect, with the double takes and I loved the Bachman-Turner Overdrive "B-, b-, b-, baby" in response to the clip of McCain saying "you ain't seen nothing yet."

Not a bad video at all. He's just telling the truth. Neither Obama nor Clinton will have the troops out within sixty days unless they do it in a reckless manor. And then, you ain't seen nothing yet when Al-Qaeda is triumphing all over the world.

I guess Obama will make things better when he sits down and talks with them.

Out of all the Dems at the YouTube Debate, I think only Richardson (or was it Biden) had a realistic idea of how long it would take to withdraw the troops.  Upwards of at least a year.

It was Biden, and he explained perfectly clear as to why (the amount of time it takes to remove our materials, gradual withdraw ensuring we don't leave any exposed flanks, etc), and then continued with the necessary need of staging Iraqi forces in our wake.
