My first poll!

The caller asked my party registration, Presidential candidate preference, likelihood of voting, my standing in society, satisfied with health, emtional standing, health problems as a hindrance, have certain people helped improve my health, access to healthcare, excercise routine, diet, alcoholic consumption, health insurance coverage, children under the age of 18 in the house, standard of living satisfaction, financial problems with health care, food and shelter, employment, full time student, disability, satisfaction with work, energy and emotion during the day yesterday, illness yesterday, satisfaction with my area, accessibility to goods and services, religion in my life and demographic information (including how many bedrooms were in my house).

It was rather odd to answer so many health questions but it was pretty cool. I let him know what line of work I was in so he could understand my excitement concerning the questions.  Smiley  I saw "Gallup" come up on the caller ID and knew I couldn't let that call get away. I "granted them permission" to call me again so this should be fun in the coming months.  Smiley

That's pretty exciting.  I was polled once before about the 2005 election here in BC.  It was a really funny feeling; previous to that moment neither I nor anyone I knew had ever been polled, so I was unsure whether or not these supposed telephone calls for the purposes of polling actually occurred. I actually did polling for the 2007 Australian federal election. We didn't ask anywhere near that many questions!

Not to worry, you get used to it after a while.[/old, old, old joke]

A few years back I was on the phone for about an hour for a survey on gaming in California.

Did they call your cell phone or a land line?

I don't think polling companies can call cell phones, can they?

I once picked up the phone in the run-up to the 2004 election, with an automated menu from a Democratic pollster asking me to press one for Kerry, two for Bush.  I pressed one for Kerry, but I think without any other information, the pollster must've been pretty bad.

That happened to me in 2004 also but I hung up since I wasn't eligible to vote.  Tongue

Well both voters in my household were supporting Kerry, so I thought it wise to press that button.

And I had two Bush voters but I still didn't feel right.  Wink
