Had they moved their primaries to Feb. 5th, they would've had much more influence than the early primary, and had they moved it to even later like tomorrow they would've likely had even more influence. They got less because of their greed, which is fitting.

Well, in Florida, it was the Republicans who wanted the early primary.  (Though the Dems went along with it.)  I'd say that on the GOP side, the Florida primary was much more influential on Jan. 29 than it would have been on Feb. 5 or later.

Agreed.  Even though there were only half the delegates available, the Florida primary was essentially what decided if McCain was going on to win the nomination, or if Romney could keep it competitive for much longer by pulling out a win.  It was also what decided the fate of Giuliani right from the start.
