This isn't good for the Clinton campaign in the short run. In the long term, we shall see.

This is huge, I think.  And a very good sign for Obama supporters.  I would still be very disinclined to rule Hillary out with Texas, Ohio and Rhode Island on the horizon.  If she can survive the bad news of yesterday, today (possibly) and Tuesday...she could play the "comeback kid" card yet again.

Then again, Obama is a bad headache for the Clintons -- one that cannot be done away with easily.

This is 100% political spin.  Maggie Williams joined the campaign after IA and was calling many of the shots anyway.  So, this is not a real change.

The current campaign manager is becoming a Senior Advisor.

This is to get headlines to try and detract from the Obama wins this weekend.

Nothing is changing other than an attempt to get some PR as Hillary shows she's a decisive leader.

Just like the conversation on Edwards today.

Change the subject is her strategy

LOL, MSNBC is using a Hilariously bad picture of Clinton AND Doyle to report this:

See it here: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23099005/

Of course Clinton has a lot of shots like these where her eyes are open a wee bit too much.

Candy Crowley[sp?] is reporting on it now and says "Theres been a change in heirarchy of the Clinton Campaign, that is never good in the midst of an important election..."

NPR's 5 p.m. 'cast said the top campaign person resigned and was not fired or demoted.  And she would remain in an advisory capacity. So you could be right -- shuffle the deck, get some attention, etc.

It could be a sign that Hillary didn't just want some media, she was desperate for it.  Which could be a sign of how things are going in Maine today.  I haven't seen anything yet.

She does that a lot. Also the mouth open wide in an unnaturally round circle. I think it's an attempt to show "genuine" emotion.

Why would any candidate want attention for shuffling the deck?  The only way I can imagine that sort of thing being viewed positively is if some (relatively) huge name was coming onboard.  Would not losing Maine plus making staff changes be positively reinforcing as negative news?

For a completely different argument, Sunday afternoon does not seem like a prime time to be trying to grab media attention.

It's possible that she thinks "any exposure is good exposure" at this point or something.  I don't know.

But yes, I agree with you that losing four states and then restructuring your campaign is not exactly a sign of unwavering confidence in your ability to win.

Hillary wants to show she is being decisive about her campaign slide and taking action.

She should.

However, it's not a real change which is why I call it spin.  What's the news here?

Maggie Williams brought aboard after IA to help run the campaign is now running the campaign.

The person that Maggie was working with in running the campaign is now a Sr. Advisor.

There is no change here.  If she brought in an outsider that would be very different

Clinton would have more luck if she replaced herself as a candidate.
