Although I felt that this timeline 'jumped the shark' on numerous occasions, in particular during the 21st Century, I thought, overall that was an interesting read nonetheless, not to mention far superior compared to some other timelines *cough*Garrison's*cough*. So kudos for that.

A quick question, would you be most kind and be able to provide us with a list of Senate Majority Leaders from 1920 until 2008, even a list of Chief Justices of the Supreme Court of the United States from that period of time as well?

I assume Senator Lincoln of Arkansas receives a consolation prize, that being Senate Majority Leader, due to the writer of the timeline forgetting to conclude his timeline with one of his favourite politicians from Arkansas becoming President of the United States? Tongue

I mean if Henry 'Scoop Jackson, John Warner, Colin Powell, Paul Wellstone and Franklin D. Roosevelt, etc, all of whom are favourite politicians of yours can be elected President of the United States throughout the timeline then surely I would have assumed Senator Lincoln would have been elected. Oh well not to be.

Indeed.  She was, however, the Vice Presidential nominee in 2000, although that ticket went down in flames Tongue

I know I wont the like the answer but I will ask anyway.
What has happened with
George Romney
Mitt Romney-I don't see why he is a Progressive. Even if you believe the flip flop nonsense he has never should anything close to Economic liberalism.
Karl Rove
Bobby Jindal
Eric Cantor
Mike Pence

Romney served as Governor of Michigan from 1963-1969, was the Progressive VP in 1968, and the Presidential nominee in 1972.  Following that defeat, he retired to Michigan, where he died in 1994.

Heavily influenced by his father, Romney became active in Progressive politics, serving in Congress from 1987-1999, and Governor from 1999-2007.

Rove never really achieved anything in politics, although he worked some failed GOP campaigns in the South.

From 1997-2007, he served in the Louisiana Senate as a Republican before making a failed Gubernatorial bid.  He now teaches at LSU.

A Democrat, Cantor was first elected to Congress in 2001, and has risen quickly through the ranks in the House, now serving as House Majority Whip.

First elected to Congress in 1989, Pence is now the leading House Republican, a role he has held since 2003.

Doesn't exist.  Ben Constine has just finished writing a TL on what would've happened if Woodrow Wilson had been elected in 1912 Wink

Oh! how funny. What you don't want to put yurself into your own TL? Is it that bad? Smiley Even  slight changes in history can have enormous impact on everything. So I thought I would ask to see if you had thought about how your life would be different if world events turned out differently. I would say good job overall, you covered a long period of time, and still managed to maintain a good deal of objectivity. Though a I doubt a populist-progressive two party system would last almost 100 years.

I fail to see how Karl Rove, Bobby Jindal and Mike Pence are all Republicans in your timeline. To me, all three people seem to be more inclined with the conservative Democratic Party, which has many similarities to the Republican Party in RL. Anyway, what happened to Averell Harriman, Adlai Stevenson and Nelson Rockefeller in your timeline?

A Democrat, Harriman's first job in politics was serving as US Ambassador to France from 1938-1941.  After that, he was appointed Deputy Secretary of State, a role he held until 1946, when he was appointed US Ambassador to the United Kingdom, which he held until 1953.  In 1954, he was elected Governor of New York, although he lost reelection in 1958 to Nelson Rockefeller.  After that, he serves as US Ambassador to the UN from 1961-1965 before finally retiring.  He dies on June 3, 1973, at the age of 82.

Stevenson served for many years as an attorney being elected to Congress from Illinois in 1939.  During the 10 years he held the job, he became known as a strong supporter of President Roosevelt, and the war effort.  In 1949, he was elected Governor of Illinois, and reelected in 1952, serving from 1949-1957.  From 1961-1965, he served as Solicitor General, and was reelected Governor of Illinois in 1966, serving one final time from 1967-1971.  He dies of a heart attack on June 24, 1974.

Rockefeller serves as Governor of New York from 1959-1975, running for President on the Progressives ticket in 1964 and 1968, losing twice.  In his retirement, he teaches economics at NYU, dying on September 16, 1990 of a heart attack while writing a book about his art collection.

I have also noted that a vast majority of past politicians never cease to exist on the day of their passing in RL in your timeline. Why is that so? Also, could you explain to my why Karl Rove, Bobby Jindal and Mike Pence are all Republicans in your timeline? I did ask a while back, but you have yet to have answered.

Thanks to medical advances in this timeline, the average lifespan is now nearly 83 years for American men and 85 for women.

Also, could you explain to my why Karl Rove, Bobby Jindal and Mike Pence are all Republicans in your timeline? I did ask a while back, but you have yet to have answered.

Rove: Family influence
Jindal: Family influence, political opportunism
Pence: Political opportunism
