We have speculated a lot about how a Clinton win could lead to a back-lash among blacks against her. But will the McCain win lead to a back-lash among mormons and if so will it affect any states in the general election?

Discuss away.

Nevada's the only state whose result it could affect, but I doubt it will. There was never a sense of McCain using "religion-baiting" against Romney.

What effect will it have?

None whatsoever, anywhere.

Mormons will be voting overwhelmingly for McCain.

I seriously doubt Mormons will have anything against McCain.  After all, to McCain's credit, it isn't as if he used Romney's religion against him.  Appropriately, he focused on Romney's inauthenticity instead.

Now, with Mike Huckabee and the Mormons, that would be a different matter....

I lost this thread so I'll revive it even if no one agrees with me. Tongue

I should clarify that I don't mean to imply that McCain wouldn't win mormons and by a big margin too. Simply that fewer of them will turnout being disappointed in Romney not getting the nod. Of course, most mormon states are GOP strongholds. But Nevada could get a bit interesting. And I thought there were mormons in Colorado to a lesser extent? EDIT: no there isn't.

Still, the pattern would interest me if it were to happen, even if it changes few states.
