So, come in and vote as many as possible.

Each Friday, I will update it by posting results and dropping unpicked "candidates".

It will run until McCain makes up his mind.

Remember: it's the most probable pick, not your favorite and personal choice.

McCain-Romney was my dream ticket 3 years ago. And Palin would be quite fine.
But I vote Pawlenty, even if it's difficult to put aside Sanford. Maybe I'll change in week #2 !

Enjoy it.

Obviously Carly Fiorina. McCain/Fiorina: We had no managerial skills, so we added someone who was dismissed for having no managerial skills.

It takes all sorts to make a world !

Let's discuss a bit about Huckabee:
isn't he harming himself by going on ?

Romney dropped out at the right moment, almost with nobility of spirit. "GOP's superior interest". And "ready for '12"....

But Mike has nothing to gain, except trying to be above Romney in delegates count (remember, Mitt keeps his delegates since he only "suspended" his campaign). He is going to tarnish his "nice guy" reputation.
And even reluctant followers of McCain inside GOP are going to demand that everyone takes advantage of the continuing race among Dems (with a Hillary who believes that presidency is her by rights).

Huckabee will gain Louisiana and Kansas, but he will be trounced in Washington, Maryland, DC and, what is more, Virginia.

Does he think he will gain Texas ? But it's not a winner-take-all and Rick Perry endorsed McCain and business conservatives will step behind McCain, not behind a social conservative.

Does he want to drop out only after Mississipi (but that would mean after defeats also in Wisconsin, Ohio, Rhode Island, Vermont,...) ? For what purpose ?
He's definitely a regional candidate and has no future in 2012 or 2016.

Just take a look at my post above.

Huckabee is too social conservative and too regional a choice.

And, as for economic competence, he won't really balance Mac...

And he seems to intend to "march on" until at least mid-March.

While McCain wants to concentrate on uniting the party, organizing his campaign team and making himself some room in national medias whereas all eyes will be turned on Obama and Clinton,
Huckabee will be a thorn in McCain's foot and Mac i sgoing to be angry if Huck is still round here in Texas and Ohio....

Huckabee's weakness is not that he's too socially conservative, it's that Republicans see him as a threat to the establishment.  McCain/Huckabee would be a horrible ticket, and McCain would be an idiot for choosing him.

Mark Sanford, on the other hand, would be a wise pick, even though he was named one of the worst governors in Time Magazine one time.

As for Crist and Kasich, gay people need not apply.
John Kasich is gay?

Only by the "he shared an apartment with a male roommate back when he was divorced; therefore he must be gay" standard:

Of course, by that standard, Rudy Giuliani is also gay.

And what about Bill Owens ?

Isn't he too old now ? Hasn't he faded in public opinion and media exposure ?
And the geographic factoris not in his favor since McCain is already from the SW (although, he isn't always prophet in his country....).

Conversely, he's quite conservative would be please the rank-and-file and the establishment.

He'll be 58 by the election, which I don't consider to be too old.  Faded from public opinion and media exposure?  Ummm....do you think most voters have any idea who Tim Pawlenty or Mark Sanford is?  Just about everyone who McCain might consider for VP isn't going to have very high national name ID.

Huckabee.  What would Crist do for him?  He's a 1-term governor - he wouldn't help that much.

It's a pity for GOP that they don't have a strong (but acceptable) face in Ohio, Indiana or, farther West, in Wisconsin or Missouri.

I think November contest will come down among those states. I agree, a running-mate from a state does not make you sure you win this state and some around it, but it helps a bit.

Unless there is a vast reshuffle (Barone has recently written about open-field politics),
with Virginia, Tennessee, Arkansas, New Mexico, Colorado turning blue
and Oregon, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Michigan turning red.
Not probable, at least at once.

Where the dickens did the Carly Fiorina possibility come from?  Also, Elaine Chao is the worst pick of all, if for nothing for being born in Taiwan and thus constitutionally ineligible.

I didn't know for Chao: she must be scrapped, so.

Carly Fiorina.... A woman, an executive experience, a business experience, not too old.... On the paper, a good balance for McCain.
I know, Romney seems to be a socialist in his management of employees, compared to her !

She's here just for fun and to have a complete list, even if improbable.
Up to know, nobody dared to vote for her !

Huckabee is nearing a bit McCain in Virginia polls: is there a threat and is this small poll on McCain's VP very premature ?

Crist may help on Florida.

Is he gay ? After all, that would be an advantage in this year of minorities ?!
Yes, I know, evangelicals and social conservatives....

Cross off Bill Owens - he's headed to divorce court.
