look at the exit polls.... Florida has pretty liberal republicans. About 43% are pro-choice. No wonder why mcCain did so well...

In the spirit of our favorite lobotomy candidate from Tennessee

Why did John Edwards fair so poorly with black people in FLorida in 2008?

Also, interestingly enough, the only religious group Obama won was those who attend church "more than weekly", although that might basically translate to "black people".

Exit polling extrapolation using gender numbers indicates McCain 32.7%, Romney 32.5%

Mitt's still in this
Ill wait to see it in the numbers.

That's what I figured. Among Democrats, blacks are easily the most religious group.

Also, another interesting thing is that Obama won those who considered the Kennedy endorsement important 45-41, though that group might include a number of those who were already supporting Obama.

And he won those who considered it very important 58-32.

I just got back, and I'm on a slow connection, so what I'm going to do first is figure out where the results are coming from.

Interesting.

Not all that much, when you consider that, in the South where most of the black population is, they're influenced by the same strains of evangelical Christianity that southern whites are, just poorer and with tribal loyalty to Democrats instead of Republicans.

Obama also won the 18-24 and 30-39 age brackets (but not 25-29).

I'm quite surprised by how well Edwards is doing in the Northern counties. I thought he'd poll 20-30%, but he's actually leading in at least five thus far...

That happened in NV as well I think.

I have been predicting that the more Clinton and Obama bicker the more southern Whites would go to him. The Panhandle of Florida is the practically the South.

Dixiecrats turned away from voting for Huckabee/Romney. See Baker County: 77% for Bush but more votes for the Democrats than the Republicans. And Edwards won by 14 points.

If this holds true in the South it is a good trend for the Democrats...

Since they're all registered Democrat and can't vote Republican in the GE like they normally do, they vote for the Southerner...  Smiley
