Oh, yeah! How could we forget? I hope that is used in the 2010 primary.

Positive, one of the few tolerable Republicans left in the senate. Snowe, Collins, Specter, Smith... and at times Sununu, Voinovich and Gregg.

One of the few things I appreciate about Specter - He's grilling the Patriots and the NFL about the destruction of tapes from Spygate.

Though I am obviously far to his left, I should like to express a guarded admiration for Arlen Specter.  He is genuinely smart and shrewd, rare for America, where the pliable cornballs do the bidding in Washington, while the brightest boys and girls make a pile behind the scenes. Few people are as skilled at the intricacies of the legislation, and his ability to parse issues into oblivion while angering no one is perhaps unsurpassed.  Best of all, he is a grouch, one of the most desirable traits for an elected official.
