Let me assume that Howard Dean never won the chairmanship of the DNC and decides to team up with Ron Paul on a Grassroots Party ticket. This new party would sway independent-minded voters and their platform is social tolerance and fiscal responsibility (this could persuade social and fiscal moderates also).

The Democrats nominate Barack Obama for Pres and he chooses John Edwards for VP. The Republicans nominate Mike Huckabee for Pres and he chooses John McCain for VP.

Knowing how wacky this scenario may be, what would be the map and the results of the electoral vote count and popular vote? Thanks! Tongue

A comfortable win for Obama.  Huckabee carries very reliable Republican states.  Dean wins nothing.

Obama/Edwards      336    53%
Huckabee/McCain     202    44%
Dean/Paul                    0       3%

For once, something that makes sense. If it was Romney/McCain, though...
