Results from Blaine County, Precinct #3:

Gore: 37% (76)
Hagelin: 30% (62)
Bush: 21% (43)
Nader: 11% (23, write-in)
Browne: 0.5% (1)
Buchanan: 0.5% (1)

Anyone care to explain how the hell this happened?

The usual answer to "why did Hagelin do so well in place X" is "Hagelin lives there."

But, Hagelin lives somewhere in Iowa...and the high Nader result (though not unreasonably high, as this is 2000, not 2004) indicate something is up.

Maybe Hagelin skis here?

Such a high Natural Law result would indicate the presence of an Ashram of the Maharishi's followers or somesuch.

That's got to be it.

Still a little odd though, because it's just this one precinct. None of the ones around it or anywhere close to it have more than a vote or two for Hagelin.

If you guys didn't know this already Ketchum is one of the most independent Liberal towns in America and is pretty much the definition of Latte Liberalism. Most of the people that live there have radical viewpoints of the world, and are very rich and educated.
On other precincts not voting for Haeglin, it mainly has to do with other towns around Ketchum being more mainstream, but still liberal. Ketchum is just crazy, there are nudists, hippies, and all sorts of odd folks.
