I want to wish this entire forum a very Merry Christmas 2007.

I also would like to wish this forum a Happy Kwanzaa which, I believe, begins December 26.

If you don't celebrate any holiday in late December, then I hope you have a very special day anyway.

And, no matter who you are, have a very Happy and Safe New Year 2008.  (Don't get too wasted Monday night, LOL).

We have the airing of grievances at EVERY family gathering.  My mother starts talking and doesn't stop until we all leave...

Don't query the weasel.  He might crawl into your house through the dryer hose and live there for a long time.

This is a weird time for me! I am part Christian (Episcoplian or Evangelical, I forget) and part Jewish so I celebrate both. I can't wait!  Smiley

This is the first year in a long time that I have no clue what I'm getting. Mainly because I only asked for one book.

A very Merry Christmas to everyone, and a Happy New Year to all the world. May we remember the reason we celebrate this most joyous time of the year.

Also, in advance, a wish a very happy birthday to Jesus Christ. Smiley

That was in August or September, actually.

Actually, no one knows for sure when he was born. So December 25th is as good of a day as any to celebrate it.

Regardless of when Jesus' birth date actually fell, I've never quite understood why Christmas is way bigger than Easter... it seems to me that any old Joe can be born; the real important part comes from his death and resurrection.

In most Evangelical Circles, namely the Southern Baptist circle, and among my many Methodist friends, Easter is considered to be just a little more important than Christmas for the very reason you just stated.  In my mind, they are both about equal.  In fact, this Wednesday morning at midnight, December 26 (the minute Christmas Day is over), I will immediately shift my attention toward Easter.

BTW, Easter is in March this year.  March 23, so an early Easter.

Gabu is right. Christmas always seems more important but according to my school teachings (I spent some time with the Catholics) Easter is more important because without the ressurection, Jesus' birth wouldn't be important. It's a shame the world looks more to Christmas though as being more important because of gifts but I did get great boots tonight!!

I'm watching Mass from St. Peter's, it sounds familiar.
