(OOC) Okay, first off, we need a bit of paradigm shift, here.

You are not Bacon King, or Ernest, or Al, or afleitch, or whoever.  Unless otherwise stated, you are your character.

Now, I can kinda see why this thread would be at least partially OOC; we're discussing OOC matters, to an extent.  But we need to shake off this as our primary mode of thought/discussion.

Re: representation; see how Eutopia did it.  I rather like their idea, if we can adapt it.

(IC) Well, I'll be a plucked chicken!  I heartily accept the nomination for President of this here convention.

Davey "Junior" Jones

Well, I reckon we ought to have a chaplain.  My nephew Robert Lee Jones might want to be the first chaplain; he's mighty smart, and can pray up a storm.  But I figgur you should make a motion if you want to do a rotating chaplaincy or whatnot, because as president of this Convention I'd like to see some sort of order followed. (he waves a copy of Robert's Rules of Order for Dummies)

So I think the first order of business is determining whether we should have a chaplain; this has been seconded.  So then... (he flips through the book) I believe Mr. Denoix was moving to propose an amendment to the "have a chaplain" idea, to rotate chaplains?  Mr. Hordern, can I count your comment to be a second of that?

Well, Mr. Prabhusanjil, that's all well and good, but right now the debate is on rotation of the chaplaincy.  Does anyone have any comment on this, or shall we move this to a vote?

Okay, the vote is on rotation of the chaplaincy.

Cast your votes, please.  I vote "Yea" or whatnot.

((OOC: Beg pardons, 12 hour car rides with internet death at their ends are not pleasant))

Well, I suppose that has a majority... (he checks his book) The motion passes, I believe.

Okay, so back to the debate about the possession or non-possession of a chaplain for this body... Mr. Day-nwa, Mr. Dudley, Mr. Watson, would any of you like to make a motion to close debate on this chaplaincy thingy?

((OOC: Honestly, he'll continue on this bent for as long as you let him))

(he sighs) Well, if we're just gonna jibber-jabber without any order, I resign as president.  Who wants to be it?

Oh, goody, now I can talk! (he rubs his hands together excitedly)

Well, what a disgusting idea, joining the Commonwealth.  But an Antillian Head of State is better than none.

I vote "Aye" to moving it to a vote.  Or, if we're voting on it, I vote "Aye" again.

My goodness, all this confusion.  Why do we not just apportion "MPs" by population, and then allow them to be elected in districts by first past the post?

A convention without a chairman is like a hog auction without an auctioneer... it just doesn't work, folks.

Nay; the way he argues, this convention might as well become a French-speaking anarchy!

I believe that the number of provincial MPs must be distributed to the provinces equally.  Equal representation for equal provinces!

I agree with Mr. Hornden's proposal for the Prime Minister's Questions.
