Were there any counties that voted for Walter Mondale in 1984 but went for George Bush four years later?

I know Hardeman County, Tennessee voted 49.7%-49.4% for Bush over Dukakis in 1988.  Hardeman County had voted 49.8%-48.7% for Mondale over Reagan in 1984.  Tennessee did swing more Republican from 1984-1988, however.

caswell county nc is one.

it is still a very rural and agricultural area.  the whites were blue dog democrats, but a lot of those died off between 84 and 2000.

also, there is some suburbanization taking place...particularly whites moving away from danville virginia (look at the democrat trend in danville from 84 to 2000...white flight)

Nope, Walter, Caswell voted for Dukakis, 56%-44%.

The only ones I could find were Bibb, Mitchell, Telfair and Washington, Georgia; Edgefield, South Carolina; and Hardeman and Lincoln, Tennessee.

So the evidence for Georgia moving to the right was already there in the 1988 race.
