It seemed like Obama got the most applause followed by Clinton and then Edwards.

These introductions are a total waste of time though.

The funny thing is that Gravel is actually polling better than Dodd in NV according the poll CNN themselves just released.

Why did no one interrupt Clinton and Obama? They are just fostering the appearance that those two are the only ones with a chance.

This debate's pretty good so far. They're actually going at each other.

We either have a very passionate crowd, or we have a very disrespectful crowd, or both.

Both.

Clinton sounds like a communist war monger.

John Roberts just pulled a John Kerry line on Edwards.  "You were for this before you were against it."

Edwards is far from perfect but at least he changed his opinions over a matter of years instead of six times over a week.

Dodd is 100% absolutely right.  Americans choose problem-solvers and people who get things done to the White House.  It is a historical fact.

Unfortunately, like most Democrats, he is too stupid to realize that that is precisely why Governors--and not "shrill" senators (his word, not mine) win presidential elections.

Edwards pulled out the "planted question" line but kind of blew it on the timing IMO.

Edwards did a good job of explaining the difference between changing a view over the course of a few years and changing it within the same five minutes.

Obama is fumbling the drivers' license question and the crowd appropriately laughed.

It seem like it is going to be Edwards, and Obama vs. Clinton, while the small candidates bash the big ones.

Obama should go back to Illinois and run for governor or something.  He is not ready to be Commander in Chief and the American electorate is not ready for him.

For crying out loud, get out of Washington and come back to us in 8 years.

This is an entirely different election, then, otherwise Bill Richardson would be the clear front-runner and Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee would be the clear front-runners of the Republicans.

Question: if a Republican said "cancel NAFTA" at a Republican presidential debate, would it get cheered by the crowd?

I lean toward yes.
