Sensei/Sensei.

Frodo is too much of a social conservative to stand a chance and NDN is too much of an economic conservative.

Libertarians don't win very often in America.

If Sensei wasn't involved my decision would be NDN/Frodo.

How many "Libertarians" are for something like Universal Healthcare? Although I admit we might not be able to afford it at the rate we're going.

We need a better term for those of us who are socially liberal/economically conservative but don't identify with the anarchocapitalists/minarchists who make up the libertarian movement. Shame the left in this country is already using the term "liberal".

I'm surprised you are for that but are you on economic liberal or even a moderate when it comes to much else? I'm guessing not but feel free to inform me if I'm wrong.

NDN supports a swiss style system of compulsory health insurance plus plans for the poor/elderly not a singlepayer system.

Well yes on some issues. Here's a few:

Taxes: "Trickle down" economics is a joke. Taxes should not be cut if we aren't willing to cut spending in response.

Infrastructure: It's falling apart and needs to be rebuilt or replaced with something better. I've seen estimates this could cost $320 billion per year ($1.6 trillion in 5 years). If it came down to it, I'd support spending/tax increases to cover it (but there's a lot we could cut -- ending the Iraq War alone would give us a lot of money).

Minimum Wage: I supported increasing it in 2006 but don't support any further increases. It should be indexed to inflation.

Public Education: I oppose the Department of Education, Vouchers and No Child Left Behind.

Campaign Finance Reform: I support public financing of all campaigns and basically ending the first past the post system.

Environment: Support caps on greenhouse gases, alternative energy development and re-designing our cities and transportation systems (move towards cities and trains again).

Don't get me wrong though, I'm strongly supportive of free trade, cutting departments, cutting corporate welfare and other pork, etc.

Remember, this is the PRIMARY. Only Democrats vote. Someone like NDN wouldn't win a primary.

Of course I voted for myself, but Sensei would undoubtably win this primary.
