Why didn't we know anything about Nate Vance or his opinions in August 2024? Getting a close member of Vance's family with then-current experience of the situation on the Ukrainian frontlines (he didn't stand down until just before the inauguration) to speak up against Trump/Vance's attitude to Ukraine would have been one of the best national-security attack opportunities for Kamala HQ. As it stands, though, this is such a niche story that's getting lost amongst so much other Ukraine-adjacent noise that almost nobody is willing to touch it.
