He lost it in both 2014 and 2020, but it went for Harris in 2024.

What do you think is happening if Peters loses it again?

Mind-blowing that just a decade ago, a Democrat won Michigan by 13 points while still losing Kent County.

But atp, if Peters loses Kent again, then he's definitely lost the race statewide (after all, even Trump lost the county by over 5 points in spite of winning MI as a whole) and the GOP is clearly, amazingly, on track to expand their Senate majority (and probably hold the House too). Either that, or Peters in particular suffers a terrible scandal that costs him the election.

In the case of 2014, Terri Lynn Land lives in Kent County in Byron.

Peters only lost Kent county in 2020 because John James was his opponent IMO. He was popular with Christian conservatives and Christian independents that year.

Stabenow was only narrowly able to win it in 2018, also against John James.
