Feel terrible for Antony Green that the ABC computer has crashed on his final election night.

A real disservice to a great man.

Poll Bludger has called Bass, Bennelong, Dickson and Leichhardt as Labor gains.

Now also Bonner and Braddon

He's had worse - there was that last Victorian in person tally room where they had a power cut lol. It wouldn't be election night without the touchscreen getting bugged and the ABC computer freezing. It gives Antony a chance to impress with how much he can do on his feet speaking purely from memory.
There is no better way for him to go out.

Antony has called the election for the ALP in minority or majority.

"For pre-poll to turn around from here they'd have to have a lot of loaves and fishes" - Antony on top form! The call is made!

I have to assume the pre-polls are going to bail out the Coalition somewhat, as we’re looking like a landslide ATM.

"A substantially increased majority", jeez that's a big thing to drop.

Albanese is the first PM to win consecutive terms since 2004 and first PM to win a second term since 1998. If he serves two more years, he'll be the second longest serving ALP PM (behind Bob Hawke).

It would be hilarious if this is the election that Labor gets a wave in Queensland.

Antony Green says the 2PP will be at least 53% Labor, which would be their highest since Bob Hawke's 53.3% in 1983. If they beat that number, it would be their highest since the 1940s (when I don't think 2PP was even calculated?).

Can someone spot any potential Coalition gains on the map?

Labor doing decently in a lot of North Queensland on primary swing but poor after preferences. Capricornia is a Labor up 4%, LNP down 3%, end result a 1% swing to Labor.

A West Australian leader has so many logistical challenges that I can't see Hastie happening.

He’s probably going to lose his seat on current form.

"It's not going to get down to 53% or 52%", wow, so he's saying Labor will be getting one of the big landslide victories on 2PP numbers.

Dutton has been projected to be out in Dickson. It's not quite a Poilievre moment since his seat was at least marginal, but Australian politics operates differently so there will be a new Leader of the Opposition.

This almost feels like a 2020 election, where the incumbent party gets a big boost from a rally around the flag effect.
