Out of the independents, Dai Le and Zoe Daniel look in the most trouble thus far.

if anyone wants to understand the Teals - in my seat Sophie Scamps's slogan sums it up
https://www.instagram.com/p/DIciCrhTHoi/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

It’s fascinating to see this, given how “2007 UK Tories” it’s all coded. The people yearn for eco-warrior David Cameron.

The Teals definitely have 2010 A-List Central Office imposed candidate energy. I wonder who will be the Louise Mensch equivalent lmfao

I’ve wondered a couple of times whether the Liberals might give some version of Cameron’s pitch (probably looks a bit Turnball) a go at some point to sweep these voters back into the fold, but it always just seemed a bit alien to the political culture - too far cultural left?

Definitely a question for once the dust has settled but curious whether there’s a more plausible way for the LNP to loop that bloc back into their column.

Try squaring Cameron's pitch with the National party. See if you can come up with a version of Cameron's pitch that'd be acceptable to Barnaby Joyce lmao.

Lmao, that’s fair - and how most of those thought experiments end. “Sure would be interesting, but the man in a cowboy hat having a tantrum would stop it”.

Cannot be understated how much of the Nationals campaigning is happily singing about how much they hate cityslicker Liberals lol. (many don't realise the Nationals campaigns are always much more happy and optimistic than Liberal campaigns, negative attacks don't get cut through with rural folk unless you do a Bob Brown Adani convoy lmao)

Clive Palmer has spoken for the first time on Channel Seven’s election night panel, declining his hosts’ request for him to share his mobile phone number on live TV.

Palmer is calling the election for the Labor party, comfortably, even getting up to swing Seven’s ‘election needle’ prop firmly away from Peter Dutton towards Anthony Albanese:

Antony Green says ABC's having some server problems so their graphics aren't uploading.

It's looking like there is a consistent swing to Labor, I wouldn't guess a seat number yet but it looks more like they land on a majority than a properly hung parliament, and the Coalition seem to have given up on winning.

Whey! All it took to wake up James McGrath from his slumber is baiting him into how much he hates the Greens.

Oh no, that hits far better than it should - my rural ‘left behind’ voter instincts are so easily pandered to lol

It’s rare anything from the Nats breaks through here, this is a whole different side from what I’d normally see of them.

He needs to keep up this energy. Significantly more entertaining than the first two hours.

Morrison vs. Wong in 2016 was pretty epic.

Yeah, explicitly called out like, 30 secs later as an attempt to duck the Queensland numbers….

It's what so many outsiders miss about the Nationals - the reason the Coalition still works so well is the Liberals can be purely urban conservatism (be it Ford Nation style immigrants, Thatcherite suburbans, tealish rich moderates, bogan catholics etc) meanwhile the Nationals can have a surprisingly strong dose of ancestral agrarian socialism.

2016 was peak with Morrison v Wong, Leigh Sales doing a Kerry O'Brien tribute act, triangles everywhere, and the old ABC election theme!

5% swing to Lab so far. ABC projection has him losing with 46.6% in the final count, based on current numbers. Been a while since we got an update though, because of the technical issues.

Still being talked about as up in the air - but the spin is so thick it’s hard to tell at the minute.

Feel terrible for Antony Green that the ABC computer has crashed on his final election night.

James McGrath believes in miracles! Dutton can walk on the ocean, turn water into wine and is guaranteed to overcome the swing once pre-polls report!
