Pascrell only won by 12 points last time, and Pou by like five or six this time. Is there a chance they catch him at the wheel or give him a Boebert-style scare?

Probably does about the same as Pou tbh. Name recognition helps him a bit, age hurts him a bit, wash overall

I suspect that there were some voters who would have voted Pascrell who didn't vote for Pou because of whatever reasons you wanna suggest

Someone might need to dig into numbers to see how well Pou did in her assembly district compared to the rest of the district (and how well Harris did in Pou's AD compared to the rest)

No. I think his name recognition and incumbency cancels out his age and inability to campaign.

As such, I agree that he does about as well as Pou.

And Pou having incumbency going forward is why I'm not too worried about NJ-9 flipping going forward. It is evidently the biggest dummymandered district (alongside NJ-7) of the latest  district maps in the state. At a minimum Franklin Lakes and Oakland could have been put in the fifth district in exchange for some more Democratic territory in central or eastern Bergen.

Pascrell may have lost.  He was OLD, and the closer margins suggest a general desire for change.  An 87 year old incumbent isn't the kind of candidate that strikes one as an agent for change.
