I think this alludes to an underrated concern for Democrats which is just a large chunk of their base will grow apathetic and possibly intentionally distance themselves from politics because they're just so done with it. One could argue we saw this this past election with turnout being disproportionately down in heavily Dem areas, but wonder if another term of Trump and all the expected chaotic media and many at least moral losses could cause more to just sit out.

Yeah not going to lie when I first watched the video I thought something seemed slightly off - losing the election probably took a bit of a personal toll on her.

It'll spark a fire under Democrats again, like in 2016. Democrats seem to always get complacent when the party is in power, and then rise to the occasion when s*** inevitably goes t**s up when Republicans take over. It's an endemic problem for the country, not just the Democratic Party,  to only learn (usually only temporarily) the hard way. For instance, without Dobbs the 2022 midterms wouldn't have been a pleasant surprise for Democrats. But Dobbs wouldn't have happened if Clinton won n 2016.

It's 'Groundhog Day,' I'm telling you all.

She is definitely someone who comes back from her vacation in Hawaii with a fresh hatred for her job.

Does the Vice President have to use PTO for vacation days?

That's it? 28 seconds? I thought that they were just clipping that bit out to make her look bad. Insipid drivel, but I'm not going to pretend to understand short-form video. Maybe someone can explain.

Baffling that they chose to highlight that clip on an official account, but at least that explains the context.

e: I let the video play in the background and I think I get it now. The call was a low-stakes set piece. Odds are that someone was told that they needed a thirty-second clip for the social feeds, and that's probably the best that they could cut out of this. Still think they would have been better off taking a pass on the social media promotion of this one, but it's not worth reading into.

Seems fine. Interesting that you make this comment when the demented, clapped out bag of crap you voted for can't put together a coherent sentence, and you have a ready made excuse.

The guy is exhausted, he's had an insane year. The primaries, Manhattan trial and conviction, debate, assasination attempt, RNC, adjusting to a different candidate, dozens of rallies and interviews. He had to go through the most insane election of our lifetimes, let him rest. I don't even think he has enough energy left to do a Thank You Tour like he did in 2016, but he should be ready again in 2 months to take office refreshed.

Democrats aren't going to reengage unless they have a reason to. "I'm not Trump" or "I'm not a Republican" is not the answer. Despite Obama's failings as president, his campaign inspired many people to think politics can work. Bernie too. Unfortunately, I don't have much hope when the party leadership is accountable to billionaire donors and establishment hacks.

I think its just her voice. To be honest, there were a number of clips during the campaign where her voice (but not content) sounded a bit drunk to me. I think its just that she has a slur to her voice when not in speech mode on a podium.

Except Democratic turnout was very high this time unlike 2016. Harris actually won more votes than Biden in some of the swing states for example so this point isn’t even true .

I think part of it is her hair just looks a lot messier than we're used to seeing it.
