I remember people comparing Trump working there to that incident, but it massively backfired on her as the optics showed that Trump was trying to connect with WC voters. While I think that it was a gimmick, it didn't seem to hurt him at the least.

Trump staging a photoshoot at McDonalds got much higher media coverage than Harris actually working there in her youth.

I don't think it mattered much either way but Trump's photoshoot there definitely helped him. That was one of those moments where I really got a strong feeling that he was going to win.

This and the garbage truck stunt were peak Trump charisma. Definitely got WWE vibes from the latter.

It was a smart move that showed him connecting with regular people (even if it was a farce).
