If unconditional support for Israel’s war machine is such a popular issue, why did AIPAC avoid talking about it in most of the primaries they spent in?

I understand being deluded that the public agrees with you. I am a leftist, after all. But to think that Ossoff is gonna lose based on this is actually really funny. In Georgia? Maybe Long Island, but I truly don’t think anywhere in this decade lol. The only people who will even care next week are the forums usual AIPAC enthusiasts.

The idea that Ossoff has terrible instincts and is DOA because of a vote on Israel 2 years before his election is insane at best and revisionist history at worst.

Need I remind you all, Ossoff was not carried into office by Biden’s and Warnock’s coattails. Arguably, Ossoff helped Warnock that year with his amazing campaign against an incumbent. If I remember, everyone on this board argued about how terrible Warnock’s campaign was in 2020 up until they both made it into the runoff. Conventional wisdom only changed after the runoff because Warnock performed .5% better than Ossoff, and that was due to Loeffler being far more disliked as Senator than Perdue.

I’m so glad you said this because I also think there’s been a lot of revisionist history about those 2020 elections.

Warnock was always going to make it to the runoff because the GOP contest was split between Kelly Loeffler and Doug Collins in the special election. It was arguably more impressive that Ossoff made it to the runoff in the concurrent general election since he was up against a much more entrenched, better known incumbent who had no intra party opposition.

Ossoff was almost a joke at the beginning of that cycle — only known as the kid who lost to Karen Handel in the 6th district race back in 2017. I remember being disappointed when he won the Dem primary that year because I was sure he had no shot. But he ran a really spirited campaign and he won me over.

That’s why I’m not underestimating him at all — even against Kemp.

Every Democratic seat is likely D, bordering on Safe D. Trump is going to be very unpopular. The drama in 2026 isn't about whether the GOP will lose seats but rather about how many they'll lose.

If Jon Ossoff is a self-hating Jew who wants Israel to be destroyed by the Islamic Hordes, why does he own Israel Bonds?

I never really thought about Ossoff one way or another. Just kind of a generic swing state Dem. If anything, this makes him look like a maverick with some guts.

Yep. Recognizing Bibi as a tyrant does not mean you hate Israel, as much as AIPAC tries to push that narrative.

Totally — would contrast nicely to Kemp’s mealy mouthed moderate routine. People respect politicians for taking bold stances even if they don’t always agree with them
