He was one of the dem senators that voted to block weapons sales to Israel. Safe to say jews are extremely pissed off. Josh Kraushaar singled out Ossoff's vote and talked about Georgia's jewish community and Kapo was the nicest thing he got called there. Lots of people are starting to pledge donations to Kemp, AIPAC definitely noticed the vote. I get why Ossoff did it, he clearly wants to run for president in 2028 and tried to pull a move to be the anti war candidate like Obama. But he might not even last past 2026 after doing that.

Will anyone care about one vote in November 2024 in November 2026? If AIPAC supports Kemp I’ll donate to Ossoff even more than I otherwise would’ve.

Yup.

Imagine believing this moves any votes in 2 years from now. Especially with a newscycle that has Trump back in the WH, lol.

Ossoff was in big trouble had Harris won but it will take more than a small ball vote to take him down. And Kemp is really the only R who could beat him in a Trump midterm.

I think this was the right move. I was not in favor of this with Biden in charge because I trusted the admin to be good faith negotiators. But with Trump and Bibi colluding, I don't think we should give Israel a blank check

Ossoff is a hero with extreme courage, as are all the other Senators who voted for Bernie’s resolution. American bombs should not be used for genocide. Extremely disheartening to see the zionist uniparty’s victory though, Israel is an genocidal nation run by criminal murderers.

I don't think this dooms him by any means, but it's a position well outside of the American norm, and anyone who doesn't remember Bernie falling apart over saying something nice about Castro once is kind of kidding themselves.

(It's also not new -- I remember Ossoff getting attacked over his ties to J Street in the 2017 special! And, in hindsight, given the environment at the time, that was actually a fairly anomalous loss: it was R+4 in a Trump+1 seat. Sure, down-ballot lag and all that, but 4 out of 6 congressional special elections in 2017 saw double-digit Democratic overperformances of Hillary numbers.)

Yeah, dumb move for an endangered swing state senator. I have no idea what he thinks he’s doing but it’s an extreme miscalculation. This country is pro-Israel.

That’s an exaggeration but it’s not a good move for him. GA whites are probably very pro-Israel.

I doubt that's true of Whites who vote Democratic. But either way I doubt anyone remembers or cares about this two years from now.

The whites that voted for him were Romney voters. I highly doubt they’re committed progressives. Anti-Israel underperforms basically everywhere outside of deep blue minority districts. NeverTrump Southern college whites are definitely not pro-Palestine.

"Stabenow voted against the Iraq War resolution. That's it, she's finished in 2006."
