Republican cultural dominance is larger than ever. The top social media algorithms push the Republican narrative on everything. The Trump dance is viral everywhere. Legacy media is much cozier to Trump and rarely reports on any scandal. Tariffs made inflation run crazy but most people just say the numbers are fake. Democrats are essentially invisible in the discussion: the media doesn't search for their opinions, their views are buried under the increasingly pro Trump algorithms of Musk, Bezos and Zuck.

Considering this scenario: how do the 2026 midterms play out?

The Dems still likely eek out a win. There's enough alternative left wing outlets and left wing comedians for people to find and share about.

And it opens up the possibility of a truly populist movement on the Left. It probably gains a trifecta or complete control of congress only when the next financial crisis occurs. This is not because that is what it would take to discredit the establishment, but that sort of resource shortage would probably reduce their iron grip on everything.

The more control the GOP gains, the less likely they are to hold on to it. That’s politics 101

At least in the absence of a crisis.

None of things will happen. The woke game doesn't work as well when you control things. Besides, the GOP ALWAYS goes too far and overdoses on hubris.

Just start saying there is a caravan coming to rape your kids at the border and the Congressional GOP hasn't done their job to support Trump secure the border

If tariffs made inflation crazy the Ds will win, regardless of what opinion polls say.

I personally don’t see why Republicans should be worried about 2026 in any event. Their House majority is particularly impressive.
