We got 12 new senators - which one are you most excited about?

That’s a lot of new senators this year! And the first time in a while it’s an even partisan split.

I like all the new Dem ones except Schiff. I don’t like Gallego for what he did to Sinema but otherwise I like him.

Voted for Alsobrooks.

Elissa and Ruben seem like they're going to really get in and be very motivated to do the best jobs they can for their swing states, so I say those 2 particularly

Slotkin. She's an ex-CIA agent which is cool but also gives off midwestern mom vibes.

Gallego is my favorite, but I also really like Slotkin.  Adam Schiff has potential.  So do Alsobrooks and Kim, but they strike me as potential backbenchers.

On the Republican side, Moreno will be by far the worst and I could easily see Justice getting himself indicted one day.  Aside from that, no one too notable on the right although McCormick has lowkey Mr. Burns energy.

What, primary a senator who is openly hostile to the party that she (at the time) was a part of?

This is probably the strongest batch of new Democratic senators in over a decade.

For the Dems, Alsobrooks. For the GOP, Curtis.

Leaning Kim for Dems, but it's a good list.

For the GOP, it's Justice by country miles.

I'll be interested how Justice votes. He is more of a moderate on spending and I could see him oppose any drastic GOP cuts.

What are your values if you just Justice/Sheehy and Gallego? What do they agree on?

Gallego,Slotkin and Kim are all good.
For the GOP,I think Curtis will hopefully take the Romney mantle. Justice I think will be better than the average Republican,he hopefully remembers the poor people of his own state and protects healthcare.

Best D: Hard to say right now, but for the moment I'll pick Slotkin. Kim is also good.

Least-bad R: Curtis seems to be a pleasant surprise so far, he's turning out to be pretty close to Romney #2. Knock on wood. Justice also has always been better than Generic R, and much better than Boomer Generic R. I appreciate his relative non-ideologicalness.

Edit to add: Biggest upgrade is Arizona, biggest downgrade is Ohio (which is the biggest downgrade since at least Florida 2018, or perhaps even further back, Iowa 2014 or something). Whatever. They get what they deserve.

Ruben Gallego. Second would probably be Andy Kim, but I'm not super enthused about this freshman class overall.

Kim and Gallego; as of now I want at least one of them on the ticket in 2028.
