Isn't Stevens just a normal standard Democrat? Don't get all the vicious opposition to her.

Who would be more electable in a general (not just in 2026 but 2032, etc.) - McMorrow or Stevens? I'm not sure, but I'll support whoever is.

Stevens is, for lack of a better word, an AIPAC acolyte. In the literal sense, not the David Duke sense.

I find her comments on GOP appeasement infinitely more objectionable, but most hate her because of her links to AIPAC.

Stevens is AIPAC’s poster child due to them shoveling money at her to defeat Levin so she gets a lot of transposed feelings from there.
Levin lost because he ran in the new 11th district, when he should have ran in the new 10th district which is compromised of more of his old district than the 11th.

Stevens' pre-2022 district was the 11th, Levin's was the 9th:

Ah ok. Personally that's not a dealbreaker for me but I can see why it would be for some.

AIPAC dumped 4 million on that race alone. That’s why her and AIPAC have become synonymous

Just gave to McMorrow. Stevens would be fine but fine is not good enough when better is available and electable.

I also listened to videos of both candidates speaking... McMorrow is miles more effective than Stevens.

I think they would be equally electable. They both seem inoffensive.

No, Fetterman is AIPAC’s poster child.  Stevens is not exceptionally pro-Israel compared to the average Democratic congressperson afaik and I say this as a McMorrow supporter.

Stevens is electable and inoffensive (outside of the AIPAC stuff, but that was never a dealbreaker for me personally) but I do agree that McMorrow is a much better communicator.

Ok this might be mean but Stevens has a very grating voice. It's very unpleasant to listen to. Both the very thick Midwestern accent and the scratchiness of it.

If anything, having a thick accent helps you in a strongly native-born state like Michigan. (75.13% of residents born in state, 2nd highest percentage out of 51 states + DC, US average of 55.74%.)

No one in Michigan has an accent that thick though. I think it's forced and not completely genuine.

We need to see a poll like in MN, Flanagan was clearly the Fav, but Stevens just like Troy Jackson can win, but McMorrow, for now is the fav

In this weird speech from 2020 her accent seems much more normal, less forced and scratchy. Maybe it's because she's yelling for no reason?

I can't get over her wearing the pink surgical gloves. As one person in the comments pointed out, it's such a "theater kid" moment. Did she think it would be her Mr. Smith Goes to Washington moment? lmao

Definitely agree, but I also think she’d be a much better Senator than Stevens on policy.  For one thing, she isn’t pledging fealty to Cuck Schumer which is encouraging.

Have to say I'm pretty worried about El Sayed somehow eking through the primary in this fractured field. I just have a hard time seeing someone named Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed getting elected statewide especially one who is considered in the Bernie wing of the party. I wish he would primary Thanedar instead.

If McMorrow is able to get the initial traction necessary to make herself the primary alternative, then the path forward is clear: make the race a referendum on Schumer/Dem Senate leadership more broadly. Once you’re in that star, the name difference between state senator and congresswoman matters less. The issue is just getting there.

Hm well I take that back - looks like Stevens is running:

Also, please, please, when you’re posting tweet embeds give a transcription or restatement or summary of it in your post. With how broken they are this post looked to me exactly as it does here, leaving me forced to guess if this is an official announcement, a campaign leak, speculation of a future announcement, etc.?

I think that’d be a good strategy in both a primary and general. Voters like independence. I’d advise the same strategy to Cooper, whoever challenges Collins, and anyone else running in a red state.

Michigan voted for some guy named Barack Hussein Obama  by 17 points.
