Those Dane numbers are pretty disappointing for Harris.

Where does this rank on the list of worst election nights? Worse than 2016 and 2004? I think so.

I'm on Prozac now, so I feel more empty than devastated like in 2016. I also think I saw this coming as much as 2016. That was still the election where all of this could have, and should have been prevented.

Probably the worst night for Democrats as a whole since 1984. 1988 Democrats at least did very well downballot while in 1984 the conservative coalition regained control of the house and had a super majority in the senate

I'm not asking as a math problem, I'm asking about everyone's feelings. At least in 2016 I don't "know" that Trump was a fascist and a traitor, I didn't "know" that half of my countrymen support overthrowing the governemnt, and I could tell myself it would be OK.

This is the most hopeless I've ever felt about America.

I won't put too much of the blame on Harris. Biden bowed out too late, she was given a near impossible task, and she hit the states she need to. She did not bring up her race her gender, she focused on unity, and she tried to appear sincere. It just wasn't enough to beat out the baked in views on Dems regarding immigration and weird social issues, nor was it enough to beat out the anti incumbent mood sweeping the world.

She literally was cowering Biden's ass by hiding his condition (do you think she didn't know?). Ironically, it caused Biden staying in way longer than he would if she was honest. She's one of the reasons Trump's likely returning.

No it doesn't! Do the math? What counties will have the vote?

I'm serious, I would love for you to own me and prove me wrong right now.

Can we now all agree that the Liz (+Dick) Cheney endorsement tour was pointless at best and actively destructive at worst?

Democrats fought against the baddies of the Bush Administration for 8 years and Harris surrounded herself with those baddies.

It was awful for every Democrat who fought in 2000-2008.

This is qualitatively different
I’m not sure we are going to have anything that could be considered free or fair elections in 2028

Pretty good. Red mirage like 2020 is happening, and certain people here are going to look very foolish once that is apparent.

Gallego is running 7 points ahead of Harris. That state, at least, will be a Democratic Senate hold; it looks modestly clear right now that both Trump and McCormick are favored in PA.
