I think it's time we stop trying to explain Trump. I don't think it's something that can be explained beyond "he has a unique magic."

I suppose the waiting game begins now. Four years. We can do it.

Signing off for the night. I'll see how it looks in the morning, but I have a guess. This is what I feared 2022 would be like.

i have the slightest hope and its all in wisconsin and pennsylvania rn. we win those two and we still have a solid solid chance.

I guess if there's a silver lining a Trump presidency will probably lead to Democrats gaining the house, and flipping Maine and North Carolina in the senate, because voters have the memories of stale milk.

I just don't want to have suffer through it.

Is NY going to be high single/low double digits? I can’t imagine NYC will be good for Ds. Or LI.

NJ and RI are at that area this moment.

But NYC is ground zero.

It's really crazy how consistent the swings have been so far - little variation across different rural areas.

Brings to mind the 2019 UK Election (and no, not saying it will be anywhere near that kind of a landslide or even a surefire Trump victory).  Just that pretty much everywhere you looked, practically every municipality shifted right.

Osceola County
Loudon
Anything in the Dallas Suburbs
Rhode Island

Jaw on the floor stuff.

Dallas suburbs is the most substantially worrisome
And Rhode Island NOT YET CALLED is ing mindblowing

I'd say Loudon's result is the most mindblowing ngl

yes but i was confident about tx suburbs swinging left, some ppl like ProgMod were even making plausible predictions about denton flipping. and instead its ing trump+15.

if anything this might  over allred given hes substantially outrunning harris but perhaps not by enough

Chris Hayes says it's safe to conclude that the idea that there was herding/underestimated Harris support was not true.

Shocker!

The herding was certainly true but that didn't mean they were wrong.

He seeemed the safest bet to oust Trump. In retrospect, it might have been better to nominate a weaker candidate so Trump is reelected in 2020 instead of 2024.

Good to see that the galaxy-brained s**t take about how it's actually better to lose elections is still going strong

He's probably going to have a trifecta this time around again. Unlikely he would have had in 2021, and 2022 would have been a blue wave.

NBC called Missouri at closing. They still have not called Illinois, Connecticut, New Jersey, or Rhode Island, all of which closed an hour ago.

AP called NJ last hour, they just called NY

The confusion on why Trump was visiting so many blue states…it must not have been a fluke. He had to have had internals showing him doing well enough in the swing states.

Iowa is about to about reporting results. Given these huge swings, that Selzer poll ain't gonna be looking good.

Well this is looking like a pretty clear Trump win. Oh well! We deserve what we'll get.

There's no we in it. People who didn't vote for Trump don't deserve the horrible things he is capable of.

Looking like it will be a pathetic Harris win based on what is going on.
