How long has your family lived in America?

(1/10) > >>

memphis:
All my ancestors immigrated in the early 20th cenutry.

Gabu:
0 years. :P

KEmperor:
Since they were born.

PBrunsel:
Since 1904 on my father's side.

On my mother's side, her family came over from Germany in 1866 and took advantage of the Homestead Act, which is one reason I ended up in Iowa.

Verily:
The longest branch goes back to either Virginia or Massachusetts in the 1620s; we're not certain whether the Bacons (MA) or Robertses (VA) came first. The shortest branch, the Feldts, came from Sweden in the 1860s (also Homestead Act). The Abercrombies are the earliest we know the exact date for, as James Abercrombie was Deputy Governor-General of Carolina in the 1670s, having immigrated in 1669.
