DAMN! I'm actually going to be paranoid driving over bridges from now on. I didn't drive on this one that often, but it's still rather freaky.

While I have no reason to believe this particular disaster is attributable to poor maintainence, it is certainly true that infrastructure has been sorely neglected in the US for decades now.

Pretty miraculous that there's only been one reported fatality so far. CNN said it occurred during rush-hour traffic.

Wikipedia and the Star Tribune link above says three but that's still pretty miraculous for an event of this size.
