Don't see why we need an official language. It's worked not having one for centuries, and English is not challenged these days any more than it was in the past.

in fact it might be the other way around

and to split hairs most if not all the dems supported the legisation declaring english the 'national language'...i think the issues on 'official language' would make it illegal to have translations available for voting and other things....which seems a bit draconian

If a Democrat can cay he supports English as a national language, also-so what?

I would think that such minor things should be ignored and brushed off since they don't affect the country at large.  It's pretty much the moderators pulling a sh**t test to discredit candidates that don't have enough political savvy.
