I cannot recall a FPTP election with this sort of voter efficiency within the Anglosphere.

Again, 1993 in Canada saw a split in the Conservative vote like this election in the UK, but the majority wasn't as large despite the Libs pulling over 40% of the vote. Over 400 seats on what will likely be an approximately 35% vote share is unbelievable lol. Definitely not a mandate for Labour even if the seat numbers are gaudy.

She's gone, though on a surprisingly small swing.

Its the Tamils.

This is disgusting.

Given that only 10-15% of her seat is Tamil, she couldn't be expected to hold on an ethnic based campaign. Though the large Tamil and especially Hindu (BJP) populations have clearly dampened most of the swing against her.

Brent West was actually pretty close. The old Brent North (Barry Gardiner's seat) possibly would have come close to falling (boundary changes were pretty heavily pro-Labour).

Curtice says if Reform voters voted Conservative…Tories would have 293 seats. Labour 283. Lib Dems holding the balance of power

Not how it works, those people really did not want to re-elect Sunak and the Tories could only have gotten a fraction.

North East Fife held (a notional gain on new boundaries) by the Lib Dems.

SNP won it by 2 votes in 2017.
Lib Dems won it by 1k in 2019.

This year, the Lib Dems won a 13k majority, and 55% of the vote. Really feels like a brave new world in Scotland this morning.

The Tories turned this into a three way marginal in 2017 - now they’re in fifth.

Labour win Dunfermline & Dollar - locking the SNP out of the Central Belt.

So SNP is locked out of Central Scotland but may well sweep Grampian & Tayside lmao.

Starmer landslide but having to watch his back from the left is actually a great outcome. Just in general.

A shame that this Bradford seat could’ve easily gone to a Muslim independent if there wasn’t more than one running and dividing the vote.

The success of Muslim Independents this election should make them consider being more organized and creating a party for them in the UK for even improved results. They could have gotten close to 10 seats and become a larger partisan force than Reform in UK politics, drastically shifting the center of discussions you usually see in a very racist UK.

Hopefully the 3 that were elected form this alliance or party for future elections. This could be the beginning of something really great.
