That being said, in this scenario where murder is made legal, do you think you would have the ability to take another's life? Even if it was someone universally detestable like a child molester or a war criminal or something?

I personally do not think I would have it in me to intentionally take a life.

If someone killed, severely hurt, or seriously threatened my mother, then definitely.  I didn't vote because in that case I'd do it even with it being illegal.

I can't imagine of any circumstance where it would be worth the hassle of carrying it out and getting away with it, let alone the crushing weight on my conscience from taking a human life.

Also in practice if murder was legalized, society would collapse until eventually a strongman takes over and sets up his own laws on the matter.
