vetoed a bill financing the cumberland road bc he hated kentucky and literally did nothing about the panic of 1819, clear hp. not to mention he was a rabid southern enslaver who opposed restricting the expansion of slavery in the missouri compromise, ordered a genocide against seminoles for helping enslaved people flee to florida and was an early proponent of the removal of indigenous people to the western frontier
