Largely FP but was stupid to show such disdain for Mizrahim, leaving them as an easy target for Likud in 1977 and onward.

They have a very interesting history and notable backstory, but it's tough to call any party that's underwent such an insane decline as anything but a Horrible Party, and had plenty of flaws even in their hey day.

One thing I've always found weird about them wasn't even related to foreign policy or internal security issues but a weird sort of nanny statism. For example Israel didn't even legalize color TV broadcasts until 1986, prior to that all broadcasts in the state were required to be in black and white, and even foreign shows being show had to be broadcast in black and white too because...the state thought that color TV was some sort of luxury that would exacerbate class divisions or something. Imported color TVs were still fairly easy to find and could be bought (even if expensive) but you had to get some sort of device as well to hook up to it to colorize the broadcasts, and this was a temporary thing that had to be reset like every 15 minutes or so. What a truly bizarre law.

I'm a Labor dead ender, but as a party it's been in rough shape since Bibi got Rabin killed. The Overton window has lurched so far right that our best hope is another big tent coalition led by the ultimate waffle, Gantz.

A once great party reduced to near-nothingness.

As the standard bearer for social democracy, it has performed extremely poorly. Some of it is not their fault, but some of it is. They've got a lot of let's say...idiosyncrasies, BRTD and VPH described them. As a standard bearer for human rights, their record is mixed to say the least. Voted HP, but would vote for them (or preferably Meretz) if I was an Israeli voter.

Honestly, no offense to any Jews but sounds like a lot of Jewish Sabbath and similar rules and their various workarounds.

Those are more intentional though, this was a technical limitation. I'm pretty sure today such a device would not have to be reset but there's no need for one because everywhere in the world broadcasts TV in color.

I have a lot of respect for it's history, but as previously mentioned it also f**ked up royally in ways that caused serious problems for Israel down the line. Still, at least it had an concrete vision for what kind of state Israel ought to be, which is more than can be said for Bibi and his cronies.

A missed opportunity. I am not their biggest fan, but they seem to have shot themselves in the foot too many times to be taken seriously on the Israeli political stage.
