The former is more sympathetic. So them, I suppose.

The latter seem like ultra hardline Catholics who might be sympathetic to fascism and the Divine Right of Kings.

At least the former has good intentions and they're not LARPers.

Hm... Renaissance fair nerds or literal anarchists who want to destroy modern civilization? Tough choice.

The renaissance fair nerds also want to destroy modern civilization, they are just worse at it.

But the question is which is more RIDICULOUS, not dangerous. The renaissance fair nerds are more ridiculous.

The police and prison abolitionists are more ridiculous, because I can at the very least imagine how the neo-crusader society would function. I cannot imagine how a world without law enforcement wouldn't just result in one of the following:
1. Lynch mobs
2. Police and prisons by a different name
3. Private security/militias
4. Complete and utter chaos like in the Purge movies

OK, but I’m not even talking about the practical consequences here. It’s more of a vibes thing. The abolitionist types are more like “f—k the man, f—k the system” punk anarchist types. It’s cringe in its own way, and has 0% chance of translating to reality, but it’s just not quite as inherently absurd as cosplaying LARPers hooked on CK3 and TradCath Twitter acting like a return to a Middle Ages feudal type society is any more plausible. Which btw it isn’t. Just because such a society existed like 800 years ago doesn’t mean it could today.
