The Atlasian military is the single largest polluter on the face of the earth. For more than five decades, RIMPAC in particular has invited the highly polluting naval warships, aircraft carriers, etc. of over two dozen countries into the fragile ecosystem of the waters and airspace surrounding the Hawaiian Islands. This poses a tremendous strain not only on the natural environment but also on the resources of the nations invited, wasting millions of gallons of fuel and extraordinary amounts of money to transport the ships from their home countries to the middle of the Pacific Ocean. It is not even strategically advantageous to Atlasia, as the exercise has historically included both allies and adversaries, both democracies and unfriendly military dictatorships. Ending RIMPAC will help to advance peace in the Pacific rather than war, hostilities and geopolitical tensions, while also helping to protect the environmental treasures of the Hawaiian Islands, including the Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument, a World Heritage Site of unparalleled ecological, cultural and cosmological significance to the Hawaiian people.

Not sure if the Senator realizes that the Pacific Ocean is not particularly near the South, but the amendment is friendly regardless.
