Liberals/Progressives: Would you date a Trump supporter?

For me personally, I would NEVER date or marry a woman that's a Trump supporter (nor a conservative/Republican).

It's an automatic disqualifier for me in dating.

No. If we have fundamental disagreements about how human beings should be treated and what the purpose of politics are, we cannot get along enough to be in a relationship.

I wouldn't rule it out a priori, but in practice it would probably be very challenging (most of all because we'd have incompatible views of gender dynamics in a couple).

Anyway, maybe it's because I'm a progressive Black man, but I would feel very uncomfortable dating a woman who supports Trump. There would be a fundamental disagreement that couldn't be reconciled. Most Trump-supporting women in the country are White, and while I'm open to dating interracially, I would never date a conservative White or non-Black woman (I wouldn't date a Black woman who was a conservative/Trump supporter either but they're rare lol).

Most conservative White women have very ignorant and/or bigoted views on race (especially on issues related to Black people). I'm open to dating liberal and progressive women regardless of ethnicity or race.

Even if I weren't hitched up, I doubt it would work. I dated a Republican for about a year when I was younger. It didn't work. It can't work if you are fundamentally opposed to that person's worldview.

Wouldn't be opposed to a one-night stand, especially with an older woman in some position of authority who preferably isn't already attached. But from what I've seen on dating apps, I don't really think I appeal to pro-life, anti-feminist, openly gold-digger, tradwife, MAGA, openly evangelical Protestant, etc. women around my age who somehow aren't already taken- beyond them being mostly (Non-Hispanic) White women who prefer Non-Hispanic White men.

That being said, I don't necessarily count registered GOPers or low-engagement Trump voters as "out-loud-and-proud Trump supporters".

I can't picture a scenario where I would. Certainly if it was a MAGA trump supporter that is pretty much a complete disqualified. But even if it were a reluctant trump voter, there would have to be a lot of context added for it to be in consideration for me.

Yes, I don’t discriminate based on political ideologies. If the person was kind hearted and happen to support Trump I would let it slide, so long as they aren’t the hardcore kind infected every MAGA talking point into our lives. Just as I would date a Biden supporter but not the kind who spouts everything coming straight out of thr latest MSNBC telecast. That’s how I look at the situation.

I can understand why someone would be okay with having a friend that they disagree with politically, but a partner is completely different. I can’t imagine wanting to spend the rest of my life either arguing or never talking about politics.
