I'm voting Blair here. Blair was a good Prime Minister.

Tony Blair, by the length of the equator. He was the best British prime minister of the last 50+ years.

Corbyn. The others belong in prison, or in Thatcher's case, in hell.

Disgraceful that Tony Blair is winning the polls here. The man destroyed Labour by embracing the "third way" path of many center-left parties in the West,  which has deserted the working class base that used to be more reflective of the party policies.

Then we have the Iraq War, the most disastrous foreign policy decision of my lifetime by Westrrn leaders. Blair should be in the Hague for the crimed against the Iraqai citizens and lying to the Brtiish public about the war.

Corbyn. If he didn't invade Iraq then Tonty would be the best PM since Attlee, but the invasion completely discredits him sadly (like, imagine if Blair had stood against Bush rather than european opposition being led by the likes of Chirac, Schroeder and Putin.)

Blair substantially increased social spending and oversaw a significant decline in inequality. It was Corbyn who delivered the Labour Party’s worst performance amongst working class voters in the last 90 years…

The one who didn't a) destroy the mines, support UVF violence and pass homophobic legislation, b) go balls deep into an illegal, immoral war with his Texas pal, or c) see millions of people rely on food banks while he focused on shipping people to Rwanda.

On domestic issues and social spending, Tony Blair was quite different than Bill Clinton.

That's the kind of thing that happens when you lead a party that has the word 'socialist' on its membership card.

Blair out of a process of elimination. I don't see Thatcher handling Iraq differently, Corbyn has some horrible foreign policy takes, and Sunak has barely been in there but seems similar to Thatcher.

Nope but a lot of that's due to foreign policy where Reagan not only had more impact than Thatcher but I also prefer his overall philosophy than Thatcher's.  German Unification for example would not have happened without the US pushing it over the objections of the UK/France so that is definitely a minus for Thatcher there. Also while I may be to Reagan's right on immigration, I am definitely not as right wing as Thatcher was either.

On economic policy I would give Thatcher the slight edge as her changes were more drastic and transformative than Reagan's as well but the US also didnt need the same type of drastic changes as well and his changes were pretty transformative as well.

Where did all this Blair nostalgia come from? Even if you're on the left Iraq alone makes him worse than Thatcher.

I don't know about that, she wasn't the lapdog for US foreign policy interests she's often made out to be, she didn't support the US invading Grenada, Reagan didn't want her invading the Falklands but she did it anyway, exc. I think she would have known it was a bad idea much like Bush 41 knew better than to go "all the way to Bagdad" in 91.
